Job Description

Affirm is looking for a self-starter with a passion for building communications functions. This role will build and lead Affirm’s International Communications, driving greater awareness and affinity for our brand and products in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • - Lead our International Communications function
  • - Engage directly with executives on major announcements and thought leadership initiatives
  • - Build our international presence leveraging strategic communications
  • - Own Affirm’s storytelling efforts in international markets working with global, regional and local press
  • - Work closely with Affirm’s Revenue team to support and amplify key business achievements and events - including speaking engagements
  • - Develop communications strategy and processes, from organizing speaking opportunities, to proactively securing strategic media coverage as well as crisis and issues management
  • - Cultivate and maintain deep relationships with business press, consumer media, key industry opinion leaders and external stakeholders

Required Skills

  • - 10 years of experience working in corporate communications and/or media relations for a global brand, with expertise in managing international markets, preferably for a high-profile public company in the technology space – either in house or on agency side
  • - Proven record of pitching and securing strategic media coverage and managing nuanced issues
  • - Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • - Experience managing agencies, and putting in place scalable processes
  • - Experience doing scenario planning and crisis communications
  • - Ability to translate marketing objectives into communications strategies and plans
  • - Experience in B2B and B2C communications would be preferable
