Overview

As the Director of Infrastructure Engineering, you will lead the strategic integration and management of our Infrastructure Engineering division. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, scalability, and reliability of our infrastructure services across the company and our subsidiaries. You will be responsible for a team of Cloud Platform & DevOps professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of our services.

Responsibilities

  • - Lead, develop, and manage the Infrastructure Engineering team, ensuring their growth aligns with our business needs.
  • - Build and implement roadmaps and requirements for business and engineering initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
  • - Develop team OKRs and provide career growth plans.
  • - Assume responsibility for the operations of our data center and colocation facilities.
  • - Oversee the use of public/private cloud and virtualization technologies, ensuring optimal utilization and scalability.
  • - Maintain cloud infrastructure for optimal availability, engaging in active breach management and mitigation strategies.
  • - Develop and implement technology strategies that align with the company’s business goals.
  • - Establish engineering processes and define our engineering standards, ensuring high-quality and efficient software delivery.
  • - Design and implement Continuous Delivery and DevOps solutions/concepts to lead an effective support operation for the company.
  • - Strategize and implement approaches and tooling for automated software assurance and quality assurance.
  • - Monitor progress and report on the status of DevOps initiatives, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • - Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Required Skills

  • - Solid understanding of private cloud (OpenStack) and compute, network, and storage enterprise architectures and implementations.
  • - Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services.
  • - Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • - Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • - Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.
  • - Experience with performance optimization, scalability, and high availability.
  • - Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in infrastructure and cloud services.
  • - Experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks, continuous integration, and automated deployment & management.
  • - Extensive experience with enterprise systems and databases, including design, implementation, and management of high-availability and scalable database solutions.
  • - In-depth knowledge of NIST frameworks and guidelines (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework) and their application in cloud security and compliance.
  • - Support various organizational groups with security audit requirements (ISO 27001, SOX, SOC 1&2), disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • - Foster a culture of continuous improvement in Infrastructure Services, optimizing application security, corporate security, and fraud prevention measures.
  • - Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing application development, software delivery lifecycle, and/or infrastructure development and administration including data center operations and hardware maintenance.
  • - Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps solutions or architecture patterns.
  • - Proven experience leading a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • - Strong project and program management skills with the ability to lead and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • - A proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  • - Willingness to take on various responsibilities and wear multiple hats, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • - Strong personal accountability and a commitment to driving positive change within the organization.
