Director of Technical Documentation
Overview
Pulumi Corporation is looking for a passionate Director of Technical Documentation to educate Pulumi’s rapidly growing community on infrastructure as code best practices and how best to maximize use of the Pulumi platform.
Job Description
Pulumi is reimagining how developers and DevOps teams create and manage cloud software, through a unique combination of developer tools and system innovation. The company leads with an open source platform that embraces real programming languages, tools, and techniques, and offers an innovative SaaS product that helps teams collaborate.
Responsibilities
- - Produce high quality documentation, including code samples, for our API, website, sales collateral and open source communication
- - Create the technical curriculum (e.g., tutorials, getting started) to get customers from a 100 to 400 level
- - Edit, clarify, and proofread documentation written by others, and help non-writers improve their skills
- - Develop and implement a voice that will be used across Pulumi documentation
- - Collaborate with engineering, product management, marketing, and sales to prioritize, develop, and deliver product documentation
- - Manage a team of technical writers and engineers
Required Skills
- - 3+ years in a software development environment
- - Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or equivalent a plus
- - Experience building and managing a team
- - Demonstrable experience with technical writing for cloud and/or devops products, preferably in a start-up environment
- - Familiarity with the content and voice needed to engage with the Open Source developer community
- - Experience in one or more of the following technologies a plus: Languages: Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#. Cloud Platforms: Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
