Responsibilities
- - Develop a team of high-performing engineers
- - Measure performance in terms of quality, accessibility, reliability, performance, and security
- - Hold each member accountable to a high bar across competencies
- - Spend a portion of your time coding
- - Lead a team of 5-8 PHP engineers
- - Coach engineers in their craft and the complexities of working in a diverse codebase
- - Develop best practices and cohesion at the guild level
- - Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Technical Program Managers
Required Skills
- - Proficiency as a Software Engineer, especially PHP
- - Experience managing teams
- - Outstanding communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- - Organized, efficient, and disciplined in communication
- - Skilled at providing mentorship and critical feedback
- - Ability to minimize unnecessary bureaucracy and process
- - Ability to lean into hard things and build trust with teammates
