Product Manager (ex-founder or ex-product engineer)

PostHog is hiring a Product Manager to work with engineering teams, focusing on data analysis, user interaction, and commercial aspects of products.

Job Description

PostHog's mission is to equip every developer to build successful products. They offer a suite of tools including web analytics, product analytics, session recording, feature flags, A/B testing, in-app user surveys, data pipelines, and a data warehouse. PostHog was created as an open-source project during Y Combinator's W20 cohort and has grown significantly through word-of-mouth and content marketing.

Responsibilities

  • - Run growth reviews for products that have product-market-fit
  • - Dive into data research projects to answer challenging questions
  • - Organize user interviews
  • - Provide just-in-time product feedback for new and existing features
  • - Coach product engineers on 'how to do product'
  • - Lead research into competitors and the tooling landscape
  • - Provide recommendations for untapped potential in pricing, feature parity, or new products

Required Skills

  • - Previous experience as a technical founder or product engineer in a startup
  • - Strong product sense
  • - Familiarity with business and product metrics (e.g. activation, retention, churn)
  • - Very proactive/organized
  • - Collaborative and transparent
  • - Additional product management experience is a plus
  • - Experience writing SQL for data analysis is a plus
  • - Experience working with the 'modern data stack' is a plus
