Job Description

Responsibilities

  • - Determine what to work on and why
  • - Participate in the how
  • - Share the responsibility for execution
  • - Act as the grease (not the glue)
  • - Become an expert on YNAB’s business and product
  • - Use research to refine team’s priorities
  • - Map the team’s work from long-term vision to short-term roadmap
  • - Navigate trade-offs
  • - Define key indicators
  • - Communicate the value and strategic purpose of the work
  • - Act as a critical sounding-board for product designers and engineers
  • - Monitor effort and resources
  • - Meet colleagues where they are
  • - Understand that accountability is shared
  • - Take on some project management responsibilities
  • - Define launch plans, manage release cycles, and conduct retrospectives
  • - Communicate relentlessly to ensure team alignment
  • - Collaborate with engineers and product designers

Required Skills

  • - At least five years of experience as a Product Manager
  • - Well versed in user-facing product work, particularly with cross-platform B2C SaaS applications
  • - Deep love for cross-functional product development
  • - Interest in and facility with AI tools
  • - Experience with complex, data-rich applications
  • - Experience with mature codebases
  • - Understanding of the psychology of habit formation
  • - Experience with fintech and wellness applications
  • - Experience with remote, distributed teams
  • - Knowledge of Continuous Discovery Habits
  • - Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research best-practices
  • - Experience with cross-platform release planning and execution
