Senior Frontend Engineer, Parse.ly

Overview

Automattic is looking for talented engineers to join their Parse.ly team to help evolve their analytics platform.

Job Description

WordPress VIP, the enterprise division of Automattic, is the platform for building, maintaining, scaling, and measuring content experiences. Parse.ly helps digital storytellers at some of the world’s biggest sites measure and optimize the impact of their content.

Responsibilities

  • - Discovery work and writing technical design proposals and documentation
  • - Building, debugging, and testing (including writing automated tests and doing manual testing)
  • - Participating in release planning and roll-outs
  • - Measuring impact and iterating
  • - Comfortably navigate and understand backend codebases
  • - Design novel implementations of data interfaces and visualizations using different data visualization libraries, such as Pandas, Numpy, and D3
  • - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders
  • - Analyze customer usage data to improve the user experience of existing and new features

Required Skills

  • - Production experience with JavaScript/TypeScript including one or more frontend frameworks
  • - Experience working with a large-scale client-side application to make it faster, more scalable, and fault-tolerant
  • - Highly collaborative, with a strong enthusiasm for participating in code reviews and discussions about architecture, technical design, and solving customer problems
  • - Experience with data visualization frameworks (Pandas, Numpy, D3, etc)
  • - Familiarity with writing accessible code and prioritizing inclusion before shipping any code
  • - Customer-focused mindset, with good instincts on product design and user experience
  • - Willingness to learn
