
Senior Legal Counsel - Core

Responsibilities
- - Supporting different internal stakeholders such as Sales team, Customer care and Customer Success Managers, Onboarding, Lifecycle, and other operational teams at Remote.
- - Helping us to develop excellent template contracts and knowledge resources for all our products, with a focus in the EOR product.
- - Lead the review and development of contract templates for our expanding range of countries, as well as knowledge resources.
- - Advise on the redlining of employment agreements for the EOR product in our 90+ jurisdictions.
- - Conduct in-depth legal research on new products and new laws, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- - Drive the development and enhancement of the legal function within Remote, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
- - Mentor and support junior legal team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- - Manage relationships with Local Counsel when legal matters need to be escalated to external lawyers.
- - Manage local counsel and lead litigations and collections matters, when necessary.
- - Proactively identify and propose innovative solutions to legal problems and processes.
- - Collaborate with the Legal Ops team in efficiency and AI projects related to your areas of expertise.
Required Skills
- - Qualified Lawyer (mandatory)
- - Ability to learn and master Remote's communication application (Slack), contract management system (Juro and Coupa CLM), documentation sources (Notion, Google Drive, etc.), and task management systems.
- - Excellent analytical and legal skills.
- - Extensive experience in legal practice, preferably in labor and employment law and/or international compliance.
- - Eager to learn about different legal systems and employment laws (as we are a global company).
- - Preferably, knowledge of a common law system (this will be complementary to the team).
- - Creative legal thinker – we often need innovative, out-of-the-box solutions.
- - Excellent communication skills: writes and speaks fluent English; additional languages would be helpful.
- - Proven ability to work autonomously and lead legal projects.
- - Proven experience in mentoring and guiding junior legal professionals.
- - Experience working remotely and/or familiarity with tools such as Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace is a plus.
