Strategic Finance Executive
Overview
Automattic is seeking a Strategic Finance Executive to join their team. The role involves communicating key business insights to the Board, creating investor relations content, managing strategic projects, and overseeing CFO responsibilities for incubator businesses. The position is highly visible and involves partnering with the CFO, CEO, and business unit GMs. The role includes active participation in M&A and corporate development processes.

Responsibilities
- - Take ownership of the board meeting preparation process
- - Proactively create proposed structures and content, building a meaningful first draft of the board deck
- - Engage in iterative coordination and refinement with the CFO
- - Own, write, build, and coordinate the creation of a public-company-quality investor update
- - Conduct in-depth competitor earnings analysis
- - Oversee the creation of reporting packages for business partners
- - Provide leadership and support for a 3-year business plan
- - Maintain an insights-driven, high-performing finance organization
- - Establish solid working relationships with leaders in Finance and the business
Required Skills
- - Business acumen, strategic agility, and operational intuition
- - Experience in building and writing board-level presentations
- - Strong communication skills
- - Experience as a financial and operations leader
- - Public company experience, preferably IPO
- - Strong analytical skills with expert Excel abilities
- - Experience with scale and global complexity
- - Experience supporting growth through new business models
- - Recent experience in the Software/SaaS and/or B2C
- - Self-starter and complete ownership ability
- - Advanced skills in communication and leadership
- - Adopts a broad, long-term perspective on the business
