Job Description

The VP of Product Marketing, reporting to the Head of Marketing, will own Product Marketing at Docker, working closely with Product, Sales and CS, as well as the rest of the Marketing team. This role requires establishing a strong foundation of product positioning that aligns to customers pain points, desired outcomes, and 'jobs to be done.' Helping to establish motions for driving self-service growth as well as sales led growth through meeting customer needs. We strongly believe Product Marketing is a tentpole to our overall marketing strategy, bringing to the forefront the customer, the amazing things they can do with Docker, what Docker can help them achieve, and the value we can help them create.

Responsibilities

  • - Establish a Product Marketing strategy, positioning, and framework.
  • - Build a world class Product Marketing function.
  • - Own launches, as well as Sales/CS enablement
  • - Build trust and drive collaboration with Product, Sales, CS and many other stakeholders
  • - Create an engine for putting customer stories, successes, and their amazing accomplishments into the world.
  • - Partner with DevRel to show the engineering world not just what but how to achieve their goals with Docker.

Required Skills

  • - 5+ years experience in Product Marketing, including at least one with the engineer audience.
  • - At least one year experience as an executive (VP level or above)
  • - Impeccable communication style, both internally and externally
  • - Experience building & managing teams
  • - Startup experience a plus
  • - Experience in other areas of Marketing, or Sales/CS a plus
