Truv was founded to modernize the outdated and often ineffective way financial institutions assess creditworthiness. The idea stemmed from the personal experience of co-founder and CEO Kirill Klokov, who, despite having a stable, high-paying job and an MBA from Stanford, was denied loans by 14 financial institutions due to a low credit score and ultimately received financing only at a 15% APR. Together with co-founder and CTO Ilya Chatsviorkin, he launched Truv to give consumers greater control over their financial data and enable more accurate, inclusive lending decisions. Today, Truv provides a unified, consumer-permissioned data platform that connects directly to payroll providers, employers, gig platforms, and other financial data sources, covering more than 150 million Americans through over 12,800 integrations. By enabling instant verification of employment, income, identity, and other financial information directly from the source, Truv helps organizations make faster, more affordable, and more reliable decisions at scale.
