Zapier is a company that believes in making computers do more work. We are building a platform to help businesses globally scale with automation and AI. As a Data Engineer, you will help shape the future of how data is used in Zapier products.
Responsibilities
- - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs
- - Partner with engineering and analytics teams to optimize storage, processing workflows, and database schemas
- - Build reliable, observable data systems with strong testing and validation
- - Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of data workflows
- - Design and implement scalable, reusable engineering patterns and frameworks
- - Work closely with Product, Analytics, and Machine Learning teams to support their data needs
- - Act as a resource for junior team members, offering guidance and knowledge-sharing
Required Skills
- - 4+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure in cloud environments
- - Solid background in software engineering and backend systems
- - Highly skilled in Databricks, Spark, or similar distributed processing platforms
- - Proficient in Python and/or Typescript, and strong in SQL
- - Commitment to data reliability and observability
- - Clear communication and knowledge-sharing skills
