Job Description

Help Scout is on a mission to help businesses delight more customers. Responsibilities

  • - Set and execute a company-wide data strategy aligned with business goals, emerging technologies, and evolving privacy standards
  • - Build and lead a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of curiosity, data literacy, and continuous improvement
  • - Oversee and evolve our data infrastructure and governance, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and support reliable data access across teams
  • - Drive actionable insights and decision-making, guiding KPI development and nurturing our Looker environment as a trusted source of truth
  • - Partner cross-functionally with leadership to turn data into a strategic asset, uncover new opportunities, and champion innovation through analytics and AI

Required Skills

  • - Led data teams at a high-growth SaaS or tech company, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • - Deep experience in data architecture, analytics, and governance
  • - Extensive experience working in modern data tools such as dbt, Looker, Snowflake/BigQuery, and version-controlled workflows (e.g., Git)
  • - AI-curious and excited about exploring how emerging technologies can drive data innovation
  • - Excited about developing people as much as modeling data—mentorship and collaboration are at the core of how you work
  • - Natural storyteller who can translate complex findings into actionable insight for a range of audiences
