Job Description
Fly.io is a company building a new public cloud, running on their own hardware globally, designed to make it easy to run applications close to users everywhere. They focus on providing the ergonomics of 'platform as a service' with the power, flexibility, and economics of a hyperscaler cloud.
Responsibilities
- - Work as an Elixir/Phoenix developer
- - Engage in front-end and interaction design
- - Stitch APIs together for new features
- - Understand and drive changes in components written in Go, Rust, and Ruby
- - Ensure the team ships tightly scoped features and refines them with rapid iterations
- - Develop a strong browser-based interface
- - Generate strong ideas for improving user experience without relying on a product manager
Required Skills
- - Attuned to the needs of users who ship things on public clouds
- - Relentlessly focused on cutting scope to ship the most important thing for customers
- - Rock solid with Elixir/Phoenix
- - Unafraid of Go
- - Able to keep a model in your head of ambitious features implemented across many layers of software
