Job Description
The Repayments Nexus is looking for a Manager of Software Engineering to help build the tools and systems to allow our customers to repay their loans in the most convenient way possible. The Repayments Nexus is a group entirely based in Europe, owning the end-to-end repayments consumer experience, from the “Manage” tab in our Affirm mobile app to Collections and Recoveries. The Repayments team's vision is to develop easy, transparent, and flexible repayment experiences that retain our customers for life—through good times and bad times—which is a critical element of our strong unit economics at Affirm.
Responsibilities
- - Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team responsible for the repayment processes in our international expansion journey
- - Mentor engineers on the team to help improve their designs, code quality, and testing
- - Own availability, reliability, and performance of your team’s systems
- - Partner with product managers to design and build best-in-class systems and processes for collections
- - Partner with a diverse set of engineering teams who build solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of a loans repayment at Affirm
- - Build relationships and engage with senior management in the organization
- - On-Call Rotation - There would be an on-call rotation for this role as a requirement
Required Skills
- - 7+ years of proven experience as a software engineer role with leadership responsibilities and 1+ years as an engineering manager
- - Drive to change consumer financial services for the better
- - Prior experience growing and managing a high performing engineering team
- - Fluency in back end development
- - Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining consumer scale products
- - Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills
- - Knowledge of basic loans lifecycle and delinquency assessment is a plus
