Wave is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to help make Africa the first cashless continent by making Wave's data easy, safe, and reliable to use.
Job Description
Wave Mobile Money Inc. is a company focused on building financial services that are accessible and affordable, aiming to make Africa the first cashless continent. They have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.
Responsibilities
- - Leading dimensional design to structure Wave''s analytics data
- - Building out facts, dimensions and One Big Tables (OBTs)
- - Managing the extensive Snowflake estate
- - Building tools to improve the analytics development experience
- - Responsible for the design, build and health of all ETL pipelines
- - Champion best practice across data
- - Be a key partner in the road map of the data platform team
Required Skills
- - 5+ years as an analytics or data engineer
- - 3+ years of experience with Snowflake
- - Experience with dimensional modeling
- - Strong Python, SQL, and dbt experience
- - Familiarity with managing an orchestration platform like Dagster or Airflow
- - Proficient in SQL and Python
- - Self-starter that excels at exploring problems and collaborating closely with operations teams
- - Excellent focus and ability to prioritize research and work using an iterative approach
- - Ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
