Wave is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to make Wave’s data easy, safe, and reliable to use, enabling better products for our customers.
Job Description
Wave is making Africa the first cashless continent by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. Wave launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments, and now has millions of users across 9 countries.
Responsibilities
- - Lead dimensional design to structure Wave’s analytics data
- - Build out facts, dimensions and One Big Tables (OBTs)
- - Standardize metric creation and usage
- - Manage extensive Snowflake estate
- - Build tools to improve the analytics development experience
- - Be responsible for the design, build and health of all ETL pipelines
- - Champion best practice across data
- - Be a key partner in the road map of the data platform team
Required Skills
- - 5+ years as an analytics or data engineer
- - 3+ years of experience with Snowflake
- - Experience with dimensional modeling
- - Strong Python, SQL and dbt experience
- - Familiarity with managing an orchestration platform like Dagster or Airflow
- - Proficient in SQL and Python
- - Self-starter that excels at exploring problems
- - Excellent focus and iterative approach
- - Ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
