Senior Backend Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities

• - Harden & expand our backend
• - Implement a custom playwright reporter that allows customers to send test results from their CI runs into Checkly
• - Work with infra to deploy our own Clickhouse instance to capture check run logs and metadata
• - Design and implement an API on this datastore that allows customers to run reports on their check runs
• - Work with a customer to hunt down a bug that lets certain checks fail in their private location infrastructure
• - Spearhead an AI Agent prototype to that allows customers to generate Playwright tests for their existing codebase
• - Work on scaling our current backend platform to meet the demands of our growing business
• - Participate in our on-call rotation to keep everything running smoothly around the clock

Required Skills

• - Deep experience in building applications in a professional product (SaaS) environment, ideally with TypeScript
• - Excited about developer tooling, and Playwright
• - Experience building distributed systems on AWS or bare metal servers
• - Like to have business impact and the instant visibility that a start up offers
• - Like to work in a growing company with experienced founders
• - Assume good intentions and are a great communicator in spoken and written English
• - Ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment
• - Able to contribute across the stack and are quick to pick up on new stuff and enjoy the process of learning new things
• - Love making software
