Kalepa is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to work on client integrations, focusing on external-facing APIs that power customer workflows.
Job Description
Kalepa is an AI Underwriting Platform built to deliver Professional-Grade AI in production, helping insurers centralize and prioritize submission data, surface critical risk insights, and make faster, more confident decisions.
Responsibilities
- - Design and build API endpoints
- - Improve database and query performance
- - Integrate with a wide range of third-party services
- - Translate product requirements into reliable business logic
- - Diagnose and resolve customer issues
- - Contribute to making the platform faster, more stable, and easier to use
- - Collaborate with a global team of engineers
Required Skills
- - 5+ years of software engineering experience
- - Experience building external-facing APIs or designing integrations with 3rd party systems
- - Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving
- - Proficiency in Python
- - Experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2)
- - Comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- - Bonus: experience with LLMs/generative AI, distributed systems
