Kalepa is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Submission Processing Team, working at the intersection of AI and backend engineering.
Job Description
Kalepa is an AI Underwriting Platform built to deliver Professional-Grade AI in production, helping insurers centralize and prioritize submission data, surface critical risk insights, and make faster, more confident decisions.
Responsibilities
- - Build LLM-based solutions that process millions of insurance documents at scale
- - Extract precise information about companies and synthesize it into a complete picture of the insured
- - Collaborate with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers
- - Develop scalable backend solutions
Required Skills
- - 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep Python expertise
- - Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving
- - Experience with LLMs in production and deploying them at scale
- - Fluent with coding agents and AI-assisted development
- - Experience with AWS and serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments
- - Comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
