Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the Docker Desktop product which is the cornerstone of the Docker developer experience. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on product management, overseeing the product vision, roadmap, and execution across all components of Docker Desktop—including Docker Engine, Docker Compose, Build, Model Runner, Testcontainers, Kubernetes integration, and more. You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to deliver a seamless, powerful experience for millions of developers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • - Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Docker Desktop, aligning with company objectives and customer needs.
  • - Engage directly with customers to gather feedback, understand pain points, and validate solutions.
  • - Collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality features and improvements on time and within scope.
  • - Analyze product performance metrics to inform decisions and optimize user experience.
  • - Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.
  • - Communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders across the organization.

Required Skills

  • - 7+ years of product management experience.
  • - Proven track record of managing complex desktop applications across multiple platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • - Strong technical background, with familiarity in container technologies, developer tools, and system-level software.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • - Experience working in a remote-first, globally distributed team environment.
