
Technical Development Manager - Software

Nerdio is looking for a Development Manager to lead a growing team of 10 software engineers working across three of Nerdio’s core products.

Responsibilities
- - Lead and mentor a growing team of 10 engineers across three product groups, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- - Run effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations to help each engineer grow and thrive.
- - Set and uphold high standards for code quality, engineering practices, and team health.
- - Contribute production-ready C# code as an embedded IC within one of the three product teams, shipping features and fixing bugs alongside the engineers you manage.
- - Participate in architectural design and technical decision-making across the broader engineering organization.
- - Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold quality standards and accelerate team learning.
- - Provide technical guidance on system design, scalability, reliability, and security concerns.
- - Stay current with emerging patterns in cloud-native and Microsoft platform technologies relevant to Nerdio’s products.
Required Skills
- - 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in C#/.NET.
- - 2+ years of engineering management experience, including direct people management responsibilities (performance, hiring, career growth).
- - Proven ability to remain hands-on as an IC while carrying a management workload—you still write and ship code regularly.
- - Strong foundation in software architecture, system design, and distributed systems.
- - Demonstrated ability to develop engineers and retain top talent.
- - Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- - Track record of owning and delivering complex software projects from planning through production.
